Chris Patterson does many things at OIT, but mainly, she focuses in web development, including content managements systems and custom applications. Chris specializes in database architecture, information architecture, and user-interface design. She consults with users to determine functional requirements for applications, and then designs, builds, and maintains those systems.
The lead developer of the OIT Web Team, Chris has developed, designed and maintained numerous websites and applications. Chris trains content experts in editing website content. Today, Chris and her team build sites primarily on the Drupal Content Management System using our in-house developed responsive design framework, WebBlocks.
Chris also oversees the Disabilities and Computing Program and has served as an accessibility evangelist for UCLA since the early days of the web. She helps other web developers and content editors understand what it takes to make a website work for everyone.
Based in northern California, Chris does most of this work via the Internet and teleconferencing. When she’s not designing databases and web interfaces, she spends her time keeping her brothers in line.
