Hardware and Software Optimization / Performance Tuning, HPC Systems and Networking / Planning, Visualization and Parallel Rendering
Scott serves in two roles within the organization. The first is as Chief Technologist where he is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing the technology aspects of our HPC environment. This involves working with colleagues in the Research Technology Group, faculty research groups, and vendors to create solutions that provide the best usefulness, performance, and cost. His second hat is as an IDRE Researcher. Here Scott spends time working with various groups on campus primarily on high-performance visualization and GPU related research. Occasionally, he is fortunate enough to teach computer graphics to undergraduates in the Computer Science Department.
When Scott is not at UCLA, he likes to spend time with his family, friends, and pets – typically cooking something, eating it, and having a laugh watching bad movies.
In a previous life, Scott asserts he was an Architect.
