Advanced Research Workshop

This hands-on session will explore several tools useful in managing research data. The workshop will cover basic and advanced techniques in Microsoft Excel 2016 such as importing and formatting text, tables, PivotTables, conditional formatting, and connecting to external data sources. We will then cover software options for managing more complex datasets while discussing data topics such as relational databases, controlling entries through controlled vocabularies, and local vs online solutions. Taught by Deidre Whitmore (Cotsen Institute of Archaeology) and (Anthony Caldwell (Library/Center for Digital Humanities).
