Two issues of campus importance were brought to IDRE by IT Services at the board’s November 7, 2023 meeting. IDRE recently assumed a role as the domain-specific committee on research within UCLA’s campus IT governance framework. In this role, the board will provide feedback on initiatives brought to it by IT Services.

Google Storage Service Changes
Due to changes in the cost and storage model for Google Workspaces for Education, ITS presented its plan for containing and capping Google storage allocations for UCLA affiliates. Feedback requested.

In partnership with the Graduate Student Association (GSA), ITS presented a proposal to aquire a campus license for Overleaf. The proposal originated with the GSA. Feedback and endorsement requested.
