The Statistical Consulting Group provides UCLA researchers with assistance in applied statistics, data analysis and statistical computing issues. The Statistical Consulting Group is comprised of four full-time staff with PhDs. The consulting team has a wide range of skills and knowledge in research methodology and applied statistics. In addition to supporting statistical software, such as R, SAS, Stata, and SPSS, we also offer a variety of services, including walk-in and email consulting, web pages on statistical computing, online classes and seminars, periodic live seminars, and statistics books for loan.
Our goal is to help UCLA researchers solve their problems in statistical computing while helping them enhance their skills for performing excellent research. In addition, our online resources are available for researchers and statistical consulting centers around the world.
Many researchers are able to find answers to their questions or expand their knowledge using our Statistical Computing web site. Our web site, which receives approximately 1,000,000 hits per month, has over 3,000 pages on a variety of statistical issues and techniques. We have more than 60 online classes and seminars that are available 24/7 covering introductory to cutting edge topics in statistical computing. In addition, we have a library of over 600 Statistics Books that UCLA researchers can borrow. For some books we have developed Textbook Examples pages showing how to use common statistical packages to reproduce the results in the books. These resources serve as a database of knowledge for the UCLA research community, the Statistical Consulting Group and researchers worldwide.
Our walk-in and email consulting services offer help tailored to the individual needs of UCLA researchers. The Statistical Consulting Services page describes more about our consulting services, including times and location. You can join the ATSstat mailing list to be notified of classes in statistical computing, updates to our statistical computing web pages, and other news about our consulting services.
We are constantly striving to improve our skills in research methodology and applied statistics and to expand our expertise in advanced topics such as latent variable analysis, multilevel modeling and survey data analysis; and we are always interested in your comments and suggestions so we can continue to improve our services.
